kanYeLive.com recently held a contest to design an unofficial cover for Kanye West's upcoming album "808s & Heartbreak". Over 50 entries were submitted and hundreds of people voted for their favorite entries.

this was kinda plain.. and boring
i dont think its plain, i think it shows how the tracks are gonna be, which is about love pain and everything else he goes threw. If it was extreme and so out there it would make the tracks seem crazy and out there also which is so not the case. ANYTHING KANYE DOES OR CHOOSES IS GENIUSS!!!

I submitted it, but didn't think I'd really win honestly lol this is kinda awesome
as for itsmesnitches your actually 100% wrong. I used a render of kanye in a suit then i took basic texture photoshop brushes and used several shades of red to get the heart look, then i took a wall pattern filled the cover, used some shadowing affects, then i used a second wallpaper affect which i overlayed on the heart did some other little nifty gfx stuff, slapped some text on it and viola. i have psd's if u dont believe me but chyea lol

Pretty much copied the Kings Of Leon - 'Only By The Night' Artwork
i really hate it when ppl say i copy stuff, lol it's highly annoying. Pastelle, youre completely wrong. I couldn't have copied that artwork because i've never even heard of them. The only thing my work has in common with theirs is that we have the basic idea of a heart on our covers. How we get to that spot are two completely different ways. Who ever made that cover just placed a whole bunch of desaturated bird images on top of each other until they made that heart looking thing. I layered several hues with the color red in them giving it this rough painted look. Two completely different ideas. I'm sure there are other album covers with hearts on them so to say I "pretty much copied" someone else's work is just a complete lie and it kinda hurts considering i tried to put in work and make it original. If anything my inspiration comes from the strawberry on the Across the Universe album. Which is still in its own right completely different.
so yea, i would just stop with the accusations of me stealing thing.

amazing job on the album art, personally i think its better than the melted plastic cup on the actual cover but hey thats my own opinion, i'll still buy the cd.
