I'd said this in some thread. Everybody thought I was crazy... If Talib shaved off like 3 tracks (hell, Hostile Gospel, and Oh My Stars (all 3 sucked)) I'd put Eardrum right at Forever. If his flow was as good as Com's (and he cut those 3 sucky tracks) then Eardrum would straight s#it on Forever. But Forever has more interesting collabos. I'm shocked Talib didn't pull Mos Def out of his ass. Cause Com shure pulled Ye outta his. Don't care what yall say, you KNOW it's true. |

I'm a huge Talib and Common fan, but I must say, Forever was a little bit better. Ear Drum was a little to long. I judge an album more on beats, lyrics, and play-through factor more than anything, and Forever has a far better play-though value. Either way, Blu & Exile have the best album this year.

You're exactly right. Eardrum, right now (with the "crappy" songs), can't f*ck with Forever. But a skinnier version, with Kweli rapping better than Common (which is impossible) would be right there with Finding Forever, probably better. I like Everything Man too. That's the 1st song on there. Off topic: One thing that pisses me off about Talib is his constant bashing of corporate rappers. Yes, they indeed suck, but damn. Cool it dude. |

I love this album... i downloaded the leak like over a month ago when the shorter unmastered version leaked and loved it. and tuesday night i got the real one, and its even better. i dont get why people are saying its too long though, if anything thats a plus. its not like its too long and clogged with stupid skits. its only one interlude with 19 full songs which i thought was great. its not as smooth and memorable as Finding Forever, but i think that it can compete with it after you listen through it a few times. i already did like 3 times today. and whoever said hostile gospel sucks is retarded. i know its just an opinion, but thats one of my favorite tracks. Everyone should go buy a copy Tuesday when it drops... i am even though i downloaded it. can you imagine how crazy it would be if talib debuted high up on the bilboard charts, dare i say number 1. |

I think the reason why Talib Kweli is not selling as much as he should is b/c as far as promotion is concerned there wasn't really that much for his album but anyone who loves REAL Hip Hop will support Talib Kweli b/c he spits that real ish. But overall, I think he'll do fairly well as far as album sales are concerned. My favorite track has to be Soon The New Day feat. Norah Jones b/c that collabo is sick and the song was raw.
