Lil Wayne's reign on top of Hip-Hop music has officially come to an end today, proven by the numbers. He is off to jail for the foreseeable future and Rebirth can now officially be considered a flop (140-150K first week). With no Carter IV coming within the next year, Wayne cannot climb back to the top spot for quite some time. The only competition that could stagger Kanye's return to No. 1 Hip-Hop seller is Eminem and an off chance of a T.I. return album (highly unlikely though). This is Kanye's return album and with this much hype already being generated without any concrete information out, his return to the limelight and return to hip-hop should be the landmark event in music this year. So Cheers to Kanye, it is his chance to reign supreme once again like in the Graduation days. Let the hype begin and spread it through all your friends and anyone who will listen. Kanye is coming back stronger then ever.

Cash Money/Universal Motown’s Lil Wayne long-awaited rock album, Rebirth, hit yesterday, and looks on track for between 140-150k in first-week sales as he prepares to be imprisoned for a year on gun possession charges. Needless to say, his last album, 2008’s Tha Carter III debuted with one million sales in its first week. He appears on the cover of the current issue of Rolling Stone. Relapse had alotta hype and still only went gold the first week. Sure, Kanye lost a lot of fans with 808s and the VMA ordeal, but he also gained many new fans with 808s and he still has his true fans. He is focused and motivated. He will murder the competition. Fyi, Drake could have a big week just bc of all the hype.

Believe it or not Kanye lost a lot of fans in September and if everything thats being talked about this record is true...its not going to be very mainstream. I would assume he'd be number 1 unless going up against a top seller, but I don't think he'll do Graduation numbers again
