I don't think Kanye will ever see 957k in a week in sales again, but not only because of the VMA incident. People just dont buy CD's as much anymore, not too mention no one has pulled off those kind of sales in nearly 2 years. Kanye will still sell well though, although the days of multi-platinum status may be over. |

eminem sold 608,000 in week one. how is that hard for kanye to beat? he'll probably be just under a million just like he was with graduation (957,000) Kanye wont do anything like the Graduation sales anymore, lets be foreal. here are some key factors why:1) he's KANYE(one of the most hated artist and people in the world) 2) the VMAs incident, i'd say he lost about half his fan base and respect from the music industry(if he a million fans, he probably lost 500,000 of them lol) 3)people dont appreciate his 808s album, alot of ppl think he "sold out" since he made that album 4)his personality that ALOT of people in the world hate(his Ego, his rants/tantrums, and the rumors about the free mason is just making it worse) 5) the music industry in general is getting worse, because of the internet, new technology and people downloading music.(alot of ppl dont buy albums anymore, well not like they use to back in the day) 6) his album will most likely be leaked 7) and most importantly, he's Kanye lol sorry, just the way it is. and Im one of Kanye's biggest fans, but Im just keeping it real. alot of ppl in the world hate this guy so much, so dont be mad at me for wat I said....in a perfect world, the VMAs thing would have never happend, he would probably sell a milli in a week...but in reality, i wont be suprised if its 300,000 to 400,000 for his next album. |

Kanye will sell over 600k. Yes, the days of buying CDs are over, but Kanye is a once in a lifetime artist and no matter how hated he is, nearly everyone recognizes that he is a genius when it comes to music. He makes quality music and quality albums. Once he releases some info on it, the hype will be through the roof.

Em has like the one of the biggest and best fan base ever! everyone loves his flow, his lyrical ability, and the fact that he doesnt have a big ego, since Kanye is the complete opposite he kills his fan base and its NOTHING compared to Em right now. just go to the Forever video on youtube(the most dickriding on one artist I've EVER SEEN lol)....and so many ppl love lil wayne, even the media. he's going to jail and still getting treated like a KING...if kanye even breathes the wrong way, the media will make a fake story about it, and influence even more ppl to hate him...so dont compare ANYBODY to Kanye. not Em, Lil Wayne, Jay, Lupe, nobody is in his situation...again im a fan, but I just know this is how things are for Kanye rite now vs the rest of the world. its sad, but its just the way it is.

i'm not a stan. not even close. rap isn't even my favorite genre of music. i just think most of what you said has no credibility. the general public started hating kanye west after his remarks about bush in 2001, not after his incident with swift in 2009. i know zero people who actually started hating kanye west after his vma stunt. do you know anybody? and was it a relevant amount of people, say 100,000? because if you know one guy who gave him up, well that doesn't really matter.... hes an asshole, but he makes great music. yes, cd purchasing wise, they are on an even playing field. along with everyone else in the music business who gets nation wide releases. if the cd market drops, everyone is affected. not just kanye west. its economics 101 dude. i learned that shit in like 9th grade. |
